"While We're Waiting" Dads' Days

We also host one-day retreats designed specifically just for bereaved dads.  At these events, our conversation occurs naturally as we participate in various activities.  Dads who attend will have the opportunity to try some skeet shooting, fishing in the pond, and playing horseshoes.  If the weather is good, we may even spend a little time out on the lake in a wakeboard boat.  We'll relax around the fire pit, and eat lots of good food.  These retreats are held on Saturdays at various times throughout the year.
Every Dad who attends will be given the opportunity to share about his son or daughter who is in Heaven.  He can share as much or as little as he likes, and no one will be required to share if he is uncomfortable.  We will also spend time talking about the issues we face every day as grieving Dads.  A variety of topics will be presented, and the group will choose which ones we will discuss.
The men who have attended have found so much comfort from drawing near to other men of faith who understand what it is like to lose a child.  We believe you will, too.  We also believe that life-long friendships will be formed as men support and encourage one another in a way that no one else can.

There is no charge for for these events; however, a love offering will be taken to help defray the expenses.

Here's a note from a Dad who attended our February 2015 retreat.  We share it with his permission ...

"I had a wonderful time sharing with other Dads who have lost their child.  Being able to share our stories and learning how others are surviving and moving forward is very important.  This is a needed resource for families walking this road."  ~Dustin's Dad
